Overview
Kids’ Chance of Nebraska (KCNE) awards college scholarships to children of Nebraska workers who were seriously or fatally injured on the job. The number of scholarships granted each year depends on the funds available.

KCNE opens its application portal twice a year — in the Fall and in the Winter. The Winter 2026 application deadline was January 15, 2026. The portal will reopen after Spring Break on April 1, 2026, and the next submission deadline is July 30, 2026.
Who is eligible
