Larrie Londin Memorial Scholarship
Introduction
The late session drummer Larrie Londin was known for his generosity and willingness to help others — a legacy that lives on through the Larrie Londin Memorial Scholarship, created to assist talented young drummers in advancing their drum set studies.
Award
The scholarship program will distribute a total of $1,500 in awards to support emerging drummers. Each recipient will also receive a one-year membership to the Percussive Arts Society.
- $1,000 award for applicants aged 18–24
- $500 award for applicants aged 17 and under
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following requirement:
- Candidates between the ages of 18 and 24 must be currently enrolled in, or intend to apply the scholarship funds toward, an accredited, structured music education program.
Application materials — required
Along with a completed application form, applicants must submit:
- A performance video (maximum 3 minutes) that showcases your ability to play in multiple drumming styles.
Optional application materials
You may also include the following, though they are not required:
- A 100–200 word statement describing why you are a strong candidate for this scholarship (note: financial need will not be evaluated) and specifying how the award would be spent (examples: college tuition, summer program, private lessons).
- A letter of recommendation that confirms your age and, if applicable, your enrollment in school.
