CCST Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Career Colleges & Schools of Texas
Introduction Members of the Career Colleges & Schools of Texas (CCST) fund a $1,000 scholarship intended for graduating high school seniors. These scholarships recognize that a four-year university is not the right path for every student. CCST member institutions offer many career-focused programs—examples include accounting, industrial trades, electronics, cosmetology, automotive technology, and medical technology—so students can find programs aligned with their goals. CCST member schools are state-approved and uphold established educational and ethical standards; depending on the program, students may earn either a diploma or an Associate’s Degree. Who decides and why High school counselors are entrusted to select the scholarship recipients. CCST relies on counselors’ direct knowledge of their students’ needs and potential, and counselors have exclusive authority to award these scholarships. There is no additional application process required through CCST; the counselor’s selection is final. When a scholarship is issued, both the awarding high school counselor and the chosen career school are notified. Career schools will refuse to accept scholarship certificates that are not valid. Eligibility and limits - Amount: $1,000 per scholarship, funded by CCCT member schools. - Recipient: Must be a high school senior, and the student must graduate in the same school year (September–June) as the scholarship issue date. - Deadline: Scholarships must be awarded no later than August 31 of the year the student graduates high school. - Per-campus limit: Each high school campus may award up to 10 scholarships per calendar year. - Authority: Only high school counselors may issue scholarships. Invalid awards will not be honored by career schools. Note: Not every CCST member participates in this scholarship program. When selecting a career school for a recipient, check the Member Schools directory for the scholarship participation indicator. How to award a scholarship Step 1 — Find an appropriate career school Use the CCST Member Schools directory to review participating campuses and program details. The directory helps you match a student’s interests and needs to schools that accept the scholarship. Step 2 — Fill out the Award Form Complete the Award Form to create a PDF version of the scholarship certificate. Keep a record of every student your campus awards; remember the 10-scholarships-per-campus-per-calendar-year cap. Step 3 — Print the certificate After generating the PDF, download and print the award certificate. The file is formatted with wide margins so it will work with pre-printed certificate stock or standard certificate frames. Step 4 — Student redeems the award When the student applies and enrolls in the chosen career school, they present the printed certificate. The career school will confirm the certificate’s validity, then apply and disburse the $1,000 scholarship toward the student’s costs. If you have questions about participating schools, the award process, or the certificate format, consult the Member Schools directory or contact CCST directly.
