Michael Breschi Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by USA Lacrosse
Introduction
In memory of Michael Breschi, the son of UNC men’s head coach Joe Breschi, USA Lacrosse funds the Michael Breschi Scholarship. Created in 2007 after Michael’s tragic death, the scholarship is awarded each year to two graduating high school seniors who intend to pursue college and whose parent or guardian is an active lacrosse coach or official.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning to enroll in college.
- The student must be the son or daughter of an active lacrosse coach or official. The parent or guardian may be male or female and can serve at the youth, high school, or collegiate level.
- The parent or guardian must be employed full time by an educational institution.
How to apply
Fill out the online application and submit the following supporting documents:
1. Official high school transcript
2. Resume
3. Personal statement
4. Letters of recommendation
All application materials must be received by July 15.
Award details
Two recipients are selected annually, each receiving a one-time award of $2,500. The scholarship payment will be sent to the recipient’s college or university after USA Lacrosse receives the student’s first semester or quarter transcript. Recipients should confirm with their institution that accepting this scholarship complies with school policies and does not negatively affect their financial aid package. Student-athletes receiving athletic scholarships must also ensure the award conforms with applicable NCAA rules.
