Affinity Plus Scholarship

In collaboration with the Affinity Plus Foundation, we are offering two scholarships, each worth $5,000, to support students from Minnesota or Affinity Plus members studying in other states who are pursuing careers in the music industry. The relevant fields of study include, but are not limited to, live event operations, production, music engineering, music business management, music education, customer service, hospitality, and other related areas.
Qualification Criteria and Guidelines:
- The applicant should be a full-time Junior or Senior, with a minimum of 60 credits earned, enrolled at an accredited college or university in Minnesota or an Affinity Plus member studying out-of-state during the fall semester when the award is given.
- The applicant should be pursuing a career in the music industry. Relevant fields of study include, but are not limited to, live event operations, production, music engineering, music business management, music education, customer service, hospitality, and other related areas.
- The applicant should be a permanent resident of the U.S.
- The applicant should have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- This scholarship is a one-time award that will be paid directly to a qualified educational institution.
Application Instructions:
- Fill out the Scholarship Application Form.
- Submit a student copy of your college transcript to verify your GPA.
- Provide a resume or CV.
- Provide proof of enrollment from a Minnesota educational institution.
- Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from industry professionals and/or instructors.
- Write an essay discussing the influence of music on your life and the inspiration that led you to pursue a career in the music industry. Also, include your long-term professional goals, highlighting your most significant achievements related to these goals. Conclude your essay by explaining how this scholarship will help you complete your degree program. The essay should not exceed 500 words.
- Besides the application essay, the scholarship recipient will be asked to write a final impact essay at the end of the academic year, updating Music Forward on how the scholarship funds have supported their academic journey and progress towards their long-term career goal.
